UK: Endurance Capital takes majority stake in Forge Care

-

Endurance Capital, an independently owned private equity investment vehicle focused on the UK mid-market and South Africa, has made a majority equity investment in Forge Care, a specialist provider of trauma-informed residential care for young people based in the West Midlands.

Forge Care delivers a purpose-built therapeutic environment where children who have experienced trauma could receive exceptional care and support, in homes designed specifically around their needs

The investment provides the business with the capital and strategic support to accelerate its next phase of growth, including the roll out and development of additional homes.

The transaction marks a partial exit for Future Planet Regional Capital (FPC Regional). FPC Regional had been the sole institutional equity investor in Forge Care, committing initial growth capital before the business had opened its first care home.

“Finding a specialist provider that balances trauma-informed therapeutic care with such strong operational discipline is rare,” said Robert Lynn of Endurance Capital. “What the team has built, with early support from FPC Regional, sets a clear benchmark for children’s residential services. We are pleased to partner with the team at Forge Care to help fund this next phase of expansion.”

Under FPC Regional’s guidance, Forge Care has grown from a vision into a high-value regional enterprise. Its flagship campus in North Warwickshire, The Forge, operates four Ofsted-registered homes delivering integrated therapeutic care across 24 placements for young people aged six to 18. Since FPC Regional’s initial investment, the business has created more than 100 high-quality jobs in the West Midlands, and facilitated the retirement of co-founders Jean and Michael Miller. Gavin and Ryan Miller, alongside managing director Adam Wells, will lead the next stage for Forge Care.

“Our ambition has always been to set the benchmark for therapeutic residential care. FPC Regional recognised the potential in our model before anyone else, providing the patient capital and strategic direction we needed to scale safely and build a world-class operation,” said Gavin Miller. “As my parents step into a well-deserved retirement, Ryan and I are excited to enter this next growth chapter with Endurance Capital, while continuing our valued partnership with FPC Regional.”

By retaining an equity stake alongside Endurance Capital, FPC Regional remains confident of Forge Care’s growth.

“Forge Care is a brilliant example of how targeted regional investment turns bold concepts into high-value market leaders,” said Huw Sparkes, investment manager at FPC Regional. “The Miller family  and their leadership team have built an exceptional model of care, and Endurance Capital’s arrival is a clear testament to that quality.”

Forge has also announced RMB – Rand Merchant Bank (RMB) as its new banking partner. RMB will support Forge’s future expansion and acquisition strategy.
