UK-based healthcare investor, Atlas Health Capital, has agreed to acquire AGB-Pharma, an independent, Swedish, family-owned, pharmaceutical company that focuses on sleep health and specialises in the treatment of sleep disorders.
The investment will be funded from the oversubscribed Atlas Health Fund I, which was raised at the beginning of 2026.
AGB-Pharma was founded in Lund, Sweden, in 2020 and has grown rapidly to become a European leader in its specialist field. AGB-Pharma operates in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, the UK, Germany and France with production facilities in Scandinavia.
“I am particularly proud that AGB-Pharma AB became the first pharmaceutical company in the world to have Melatonin ABG approved in Sweden in 2019 for the treatment of children with insomnia and ADHD,” said Stig Henningsson, founder at AGB-Pharma. “I now leave the company in the capable hands of the management team and Atlas, so they can continue the company’s mission of improving sleep quality.”
With the support of Atlas Health, the company will seek to accelerate its growth strategy, expand further into international markets and broaden its product portfolio to become a leading pan-European player.
