Ireland-headquartered T-Pro, a leading AI-powered clinical documentation platform, has acquired UK-based BigHand Healthcare, a leading provider of workflow orchestration and optimisation solutions for the health sector.
Livingbridge completed a minority investment in T-Pro in 2023.
The acquisition combines both companies’ strengths, bringing T-Pro’s Ambient Voice Technology and workflow optimisation to more health organisations to save clinicians time and improve productivity.
“Bringing together T-Pro and BigHand Healthcare creates a stronger organisation that enables healthcare organisations to scale AI, improve productivity and reduce administrative burdens on frontline teams,” said Jonathan Larbey, CEO, T-Pro. “We believe the successful adoption of AI in healthcare depends on deep workflow integration, operational reliability, governance and proven deployment capability across complex healthcare organisations.”
With a 15-year-heritage, BigHand Healthcare, a division of BigHand, has long-standing relationships with many NHS trusts, private hospitals and GP practices. With BigHand Healthcare acquisition, T-Pro is now working with 120 NHS Trusts.
The acquisition will see all BigHand Healthcare’s employees transition to T-Pro, strengthening a team with close to 200 employees dedicated to transforming clinical documentation across the healthcare sector.
“BigHand Healthcare has built strong, trusted relationships with clients over many years,” said Sam Toulson, CEO, BigHand. “We believe that BigHand Healthcare joining T-Pro is an exciting step for the clients and the patients they serve. By bringing together our complementary strengths, customers will have access to greater capability while continuing to be supported by the teams they know and trust.”
BigHand is a portfolio company of Levine Leichtman Capital Partners, which invested in 2020.
In 2025, T-Pro acquired New Zealand-based Sound Business Systems (SBS), a provider of clinical documentation software for healthcare organisations across New Zealand and Australia.
