Slovenia: ARX Equity Partners acquires majority stake in Medicofit

-

Czech Republic-based ARX Equity Partners, a private equity supporting the growth and development of mid-sized companies in Central Europe, has acquired a majority stake in Medicofit, a physiotherapy clinic for pain and injuries in Slovenia. The transaction marks the first institutional private equity investment into Slovenia’s private physiotherapy sector and establishes a platform for accelerated regional expansion.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Founded in Ljubljana in 2021 by Jaka Plantan and Nejc Šimenko, Medicofit has, in under five years, grown into the reference provider for structured, evidence-based rehabilitation in Slovenia. As part of the transition, outgoing director Šimenko exits both his executive role and shareholder position.

Co-founder Plantan will lead the business as CEO, alongside Marko Stojanovič as chief physiotherapist. Both will remain shareholders alongside ARX, and will, together, aim to build a strong regional group focused on comprehensive musculoskeletal care. Medicofit also plana to develop new clinical specialisations, starting with women’s health physiotherapy and neurophysiotherapy.

Advisors: Karanovic & Partners (Nina Krajnc Anžlovar, Marko Ketler, LL.M. (LSE), Zala Jeram), and PwC (Timea Kisuczky, Žan Pirtovšek).
