Funds managed by Germany-based Pinova Capital, an independent private equity firm investing in industrial tech companies in the German-speaking region have acquired a stake in Ideal-tek, a Switzerland-based manufacturer of precision tools used in the production of medical devices, as well as in the aerospace and defence industry, and in electronics manufacturing. Ideal-tek is the first investment of Pinova Fund 4.
With a history spanning over 60 years, Ideal-tek is one of the leading providers in its niche and supplies customers in 45 countries through a network of distribution partners.
“For the next phase of growth at Ideal-tek, I looked for the right partner and found it in Pinova, “said managing partner Sandro Grisoni. “What convinced me most was Pinova’s many years of experience in the internationalisation of mid-sized companies.”
Grisoni will remain closely involved with the company as CEO.
“We are very much looking forward to . . . shaping the next phase of growth, in particular the further expansion of [its] international presence in North America and through targeted acquisitions,” said Martin Olbort, managing director and founder at Pinova.
The Pinova deal team (Olbort, Lizzy-Lorenza Nottmeier, Ron Diekämper) was advised by Singular Group (Commercial), BDO Schweiz (Financial & Tax), and CMS (Legal).
Ideal-tek was advised by Tonella and btc.legal sa.
