Malaysia: KKR invests in Malaysia’s Avisena Healthcare to back new phase of expansion

-

KKR, a leading global investment firm, is taking a minority stake in Malaysian hospital operator Avisena Healthcare to back its new phase of expansion. Founded in 1996, Avisena Healthcare is one of the fastest growing healthcare providers in Malaysia, offering an extensive range of specialist services, primary care and wellness solutions.

The capital will support Avisena broaden its multi‑specialty services at its two Shah Alam hospitals and develop new greenfield facilities across the Klang Valley, where private‑sector demand continues to outstrip capacity.

“Over the past 30 years, we have built Avisena with a clear purpose – to make quality, compassionate and accessible healthcare available to the communities we serve,” said Elina Nadia Omar, group CEO of Avisena Healthcare. “We believe KKR’s regional healthcare expertise and broader experience will support our efforts to expand our capabilities, strengthen our clinical offering, and deliver high-quality care to more patients.”
