Denmark: SOL enters Nordics with acquisition of Nowus Healthcare

-

Italy-based SOL Group, a multinational producer of technical, pure and medical gases, has entered the Nordic market with the acquisition of 100% of Danish company Nowus Healthcare, a leading player in the respiratory care sector, from its founding shareholders.

The transaction marks a new milestone in SOL’s internationalisation strategy in the homecare sector, in which it operates through the Vivisol companies. The deal enables Vivisol to expand its respiratory care business into the Nordic countries.

Founded in 2017, Nowus Healthcare is a distributor of medical devices and consumables covering the entire patient pathway in respiratory insufficiency, from diagnosis to treatment, including sleep apnea, COPD and other chronic respiratory conditions. The company and its subsidiaries serve hospitals, sleep clinics and healthcare professionals in Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland and the UK, working with leading European, North American and British medical device manufacturers. It has consolidated revenues of approximately DKK51.3m (US$7.9m) and a workforce of 14 people.

“. [The deal] . . . allows us to consolidate the results achieved over the years while continuing to offer the personalised service and reliable support our customers know us for,” said Lars Henriksen, CEO and co-founder of Nowus Healthcare.

SOL Group is present in 33 countries with 7,623 employees, serves over 50,000 industrial customers, 500 major medical customers and over 870,000 patients. In 2025 its net sales totalled €1.8bn.
