Medu Group, a Norway-based distributor of medical equipment to the Nordics, has strengthened its platform with the acquisition of Medical Scandinavia, a supplier of medical and medico-technical equipment to hospitals and specialist clinics throughout Denmark.
“Medical Scandinavia is a highly respected company with strong industry knowledge, experienced people, and a solid position in the Danish market,” said Trond Dahl Hansen, CEO of Medu Group. “The company fits well with our strategy of partnering with strong, specialised businesses and supporting their continued development.”
The acquisition, Medu’s twelfth, strengthens its presence in Denmark, according to Anders Kjøde, CFO of Medu Group. Medical Scandinavia adds a strong combination of market expertise, technical capability, and service operations, “further strengthening the foundation for profitable growth across the Nordic medtech market,” he said.
Kenneth Amstrup Willer, CEO at Medical Scandinavia, sees the collaboration as providing strong opportunities to further strengthen the firm and contribute to the common mission of becoming Scandinavia’s preferred one-stop-shop for new equipment, advice, repair or maintenance of existing equipment.
Medu is backed by Serendipity Partners.
Medical Scandinavia was advised by DLA Piper (Christoffer Tolstrup, Martin Lavesen, Mikkel Reiss Overby).
