Vithas, one of Spain’s largest private hospital operators, has acquired the Spain network of Genesis Care, a global leader in clinical oncology services, which consists of 18 healthcare centres and units.
“We have been working closely with Vithas for years,” said Justin Hely, CEO of Genesis Care UK. “As such, we are confident that the project will continue to grow and thrive under the ownership of Vithas.”
The integration of Genesis Care Spain represents an important step forward in Vithas’ oncology care model.
“The incorporation of this specialised network to the Vithas Oncology Institute will reinforce our commitment to comprehensive, multidisciplinary care supported by the best available technology,” said Dr Pedro Rico, CEO of Vithas.
The deals sees Genesis Care Spain patients gaining access to Vithas’ network of 22 hospitals and 40 medical centres, diagnostic technologies, healthcare resources and medical specialties. Vithas patients will benefit from the accumulated experience of Genesis Care, particularly in radiation oncology, and from one of the most advanced technological platforms in the sector.
Genesis Care is backed by Goodgrower Group, the private investment vehicle dedicated to healthcare investments of the Gallardo Family Group.
