Slovenia: Salus signs agreement to acquire Farmedica for €21.6m

-

Salus Group, a Slovenia-based commercialisation and distribution partner for Healthcare and Biotech companies in Central Eastern and South Eastern Europe, has signed a share purchase agreement (SPA) for the acquisition of a 100 % stake in Farmedica, a Slovenia-based specialist in pharmaceutical-quality OTC medicines, for €21.6m (US$25m).

With this move, Salus is entering a new segment, extending its reach into the pharmacy, the doctor’s office, the hospital, online – the touchpoints where patients make decisions about their health.

“True value is created when we capture all the touchpoints where patients make decisions about their health,” said Gregor Jenko, member of the Salus board. “Farmedica represents an important step in that direction.”

Farmedica brings a portfolio of brands, including Prospan, A.Vogel, Isla, Canephron and Sinupret, that patients and healthcare professionals have relied on for decades.

“We are building a group that reaches patients wherever they take care of their health,” said Žiga Hieng, CEO and president of the Salus board. “We believe that we can write the next chapter of this story together.”
