Purna Pharmaceuticals, a specialty CDMO based in Belgium, has appointed Marc Verbruggen as managing director.
Verbruggen joins Purna from Normec Healthcare Belgium, where he was managing director. Previously, he was group CEO of Qualiphar and held various site leadership roles at Novartis, Johnson & Johnson and Janssen Pharmaceutica. He began his professional career at Monsanto as a production and process engineer.
Purna, a portfolio company of Ampersand Capital since February 2026, specialises in the development, manufacture and supply of liquid and semi-solid pharmaceutical products. Dr Stefan Beyer, an Ampersand executive advisor who has served as Purna’s interim managing director, has joined the company’s board as its chairman.
